Margaret Harper has been a Depute Head Teacher in Grange Academy, Kilmarnock for over 20 years. She completed a degree in Applied Physics at Strathclyde University and a Secondary Teaching Qualification, in Physics and Mathematics at Jordanhill College. Margaret has taught Physics in a number of schools in Ayrshire before becoming a DHT at Grange Academy. She has been seconded to HMIe and the Scottish Government to work on initiatives linked to Enterprise in Education. For many years she has been involved in school/college links culminating in chairing the Learning and Teaching committee at Kilmarnock College. Since 2005, after accompanying a pupil visit to Kunming, China, she has contributed to the establishment of the Ayrshire Confucius Hub and the introduction of Chinese Language learning in Ayrshire schools.
